The West Manchester Township Fire Department purchased a 2015 Pierce Enforcer Engine in October 2014. This engine will be designated as Engine 505 and replace our 1991 Spartan / E-One pumper. Construction of our new unit began in May at the Pierce Manufacturing Plant located in Appleton, Wisconsin.
Engine 505 is due to be delivered in late June or early July 2015. It is equipped with a 450 hp Cummins diesel engine, a 5-speed Allison automatic transmission, a Hale 1500 gpm single stage fire pump, and a 750 gallon water tank. It has seating for 6 firefighters, along with equipment and EMS storage cabinets. The unit is equipped with LED scene lighting, LED emergency lighting, one preconnected 150 foot 1 ¾” front bumper line, two 200 foot 1 ¾” crosslays, two rear step 200 foot 1 ¾” preconnected attack lines, one 250 foot 2 ½” preconnected attack line, one 300 foot Blitzfire, and storage for 1200 feet of 5” LDH supply hose.
This unit will be our first all white engine to match our duty and support vehicles. In April 2015, the WMTFD consolidated operations as a unified organization comprised of the Shiloh Fire Company and Lincolnway Fire Company. All future units will be white to reflect this unification. Unit designations now reflect Station 502 – Shiloh and Station 505 – Lincolnway.
We will be posting updated photos of the build process. Please feel free to explore.
