EASTER BUNNY IS COMING TO TOWN!!

The members of the WMTFD have been in talks with the Easter Bunny, and since he can't meet with the boys and girls in the stores this year he has asked us to take him around the Township on a Fire Truck!!

We are super excited that he has chosen our community to visit! He will be coming around the Township on Saturday April 11th starting at 1pm. More details of the route will be released in the coming days.

So have your ears open and listen for the sirens so you know when he is coming and can be standing out front of your house when he comes by.

TOWNSHIP OFFICES CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

Gov. Tom Wolf just issued a stay-at-home order for York County effective 8pm TONIGHT through April 6, 2020. Under this order, individuals must stay at home except to perform certain essential activities – including tasks to maintain health and safety, obtain supplies for the household, care for a family member or pet, and perform work at a life-sustaining business.

AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM PENN WASTE:

Effective Monday, March 30th, Penn Waste will be enforcing the following collection mandates in an effort to protect our frontline team members and as a result of having a limited workforce during this COVID-19 pandemic:

- All trash must be bagged and tied. If you’re in a municipality that has a mobile cart, all bags must be placed inside your mobile cart. Loose items will be not be collected.

- All recyclable materials must be placed inside your recycling container(s), including your flattened cardboard. Recyclable items left outside of your recycling container will not be collected.

- We will enforce the bag and/ or cart limits as designated by your municipality. If you do not know what your limits are, you can check on our website by selecting your municipality on our municipality resource page - www.pennwaste.com/for-your-home/municipalities/.

- Bulk item and yard waste collection is suspended until further notice. We are doing this so we can continue to focus all our efforts and personnel on trash and recycling collection.

All of the above actions are being put in place to help protect the health and safety of our team members. After the COVID-19 crisis is over, we will resume our normal collection practices and reinstate bulk item and yard waste collection services. Please continue to check our website and your municipality’s website for updates.

The cardboard is going to overflow. We break my husbands dialysis boxes down and put them in a bigger box for recycling. We use our can for our weekly recycling. What am I do to with the extra waste??? Now I have to worry about rodents on top of all this and Iam sure my bill will not be adjusted.

Why don’t they do something with people putting non recyclables in there bins
